About Summerland
Our Story
Summerland Christian College was founded in 1978 as part of a growing movement of Christian education across Australia.
It began with a group of people who stepped out in faith. They believed education could be different, that students could be shaped not only academically, but in their character, their faith, and their understanding of who they are.
From the beginning, there was a clear conviction. Learning mattered. Faith mattered. And both belonged together.
What started in humble surroundings has grown into a thriving K to 12 community. But the heart behind the College has never changed.
We remain a place that values strong learning, deep relationships, and a faith that is lived, not just taught.
There has always been a willingness to lead, to adapt, and to keep asking what is best for the students in our care. That spirit continues to shape who we are today.
Led by Principal Tony Ellem and a committed team of staff, Summerland continues to build on its foundation, developing young people who are grounded in faith, strong in character, and prepared for a hope-filled future.

This vision has shaped our College from the very beginning. For over four decades, Summerland has been a place where faith and learning walk hand in hand. In this season, part of my role is to ensure we continue to grow in clarity, courage, and faithfulness to that calling.
At Summerland, students are not just supported, they are known. We intentionally create a culture where every child is seen, valued, and challenged to grow. Our approach is to nurture the whole person, mind, heart, and spirit, holding together both high expectations and deep care.
Our staff walk closely with students and families, helping each young person discover their identity, develop their gifts, and step confidently into their future.
We are not a perfect school, but we are a purposeful one. We are committed to becoming more like Christ in the way we learn, lead, and relate to one another.
